SEN DİYE
BİRİ VARDI
ABOUT THE PLAY
Unsettled accounts,
Unfinished ledgers,
Unspoken words,
Unknocked doors.
Can and Damla come together years after a bitter loss. By a stroke of chance, they find themselves alone and this gives them an opportunity to confront their past, their relationship, themselves, and the world under the shadow of the loss they experienced. On a cool autumn evening, accompanied by complex emotions and a few glasses, they talk.
"Sen Diye Biri Vardı" is the first play by Alp Ünsal and it doesn't merely narrate a relationship. In fact, it questions the characteristics, troubles, and mindset of a generation through the window of a relationship. It embodies the emotions, thoughts, and views that distinguish it from previous generations. It invites its audience to a beautiful conversation evening where all of this deepens without becoming didactic.
A funeral home, one deceased, two mortals, memories, today, and words. To be able to live today, you need to make peace with your past. This play does not involve intrigue, murder, or violence.
"Have you ever thought about what would have happened if we had started being together at this age?"
